Miranda Ballentine

Miranda Ballentine is currently a Senior Advisor at Green Strategies, Inc. supporting pragmatic Scope 2 Accounting. She brings 25 years of leadership experience in defense, energy and retail, having served as a Pentagon executive overseeing energy security for the nation’s largest energy consumer as well as a global director for a Fortune #1 company. Miranda was the founding CEO of the Clean Energy Buyers Alliance and founding CEO of the Clean Energy Buyers Alliance. In 2014, she was appointed by President Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the 4th Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Installations, Environment, & Energy), where she was responsible for a $9 billion energy budget and a $4.5 billion infrastructure budget. Previously, Miranda was Director of Sustainability for Global Renewable Energy at Walmart. Ballentine has been recognized on the 2023 inaugural TIME100 CLIMATE list, the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders in 2013, and 2020 Woman of the Year by the Women’s Council on Environment and Energy. In 2016, Miranda was honored with the Air Force’s highest civilian award, the Decoration for Exceptional Civilian Service to the United States Air Force. She holds a BS degree from Colorado State University and an MBA from George Washington University specializing in energy and environmental management.  She lives near Washington, DC with her husband and their daughters.
