Angela Zhong

Angela Zhong recently joined GridCare, a startup focused on improving grid capacity, as part of its strategy and finance team. Over the previous two years, she was an Impact Solutions Analyst at Y Analytics, the research organization supporting asset management firm TPG, where she covered impact-oriented private equity funds with $32 billion in assets under management.

She evaluated the social and environmental impact of companies targeted by the Rise Climate Fund, representing thousands of metric tons of potential carbon emissions abatement. For example, Zhong led the impact diligence and underwriting that informed TPG’s $100 million investment in Zum, a pioneer of zero-emissions school buses and vehicle-to-grid technologies.

Zhong also collaborated with Y Analytics’ in-house artificial intelligence team to quantify the improvement in wildfire containment for another company. Her research on deforestation using novel satellite data has won international economics awards.
