Bess Waldram
Bess Waldram, educated as a chemical engineer, manages partnerships for the Dairy Methane Action Alliance, an EDF initiative aimed at reducing methane emissions across the dairy sector, whose member companies include Danone, Starbucks and Bel Group.
She has worked with these and other companies to publish 10 methane disclosures and nine first-of-a-kind action plans. Two of those companies have recorded progress: Danone disclosed a 30 percent cut from 2020 to 2025, while Bel reported a 26 reduction from 2017 to 2024.
Waldram brought three new companies into the alliance, expanding its reach to five continents, representing 30 percent of the U.S. and 10 percent of the European Union dairy markets. In the EU, Waldram brings together dairy companies and policymakers to unlock public funding for methane-reducing practices.
