Hannah Black
Hannah Black joined Trane Techologies as an intern five years ago. She now owns the strategy behind the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment manufacturer’s net-positive water commitment and nature-related impact initiatives.
To that end, Black conducted Trane Technologies’ first nature risk assessment. In 2025, she produced its first report using the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures’ LEAP (Locate, Evaluate, Assess, Prepare) framework. Black’s net-positive water roadmap addresses 127 million gallons of water used annually at 24 of Trane Technologies’ global sites located in regions facing high water-stress.
Black also leads the Trane Technologies Sustainability Ambassador Network, which includes more than 1,200 employees, each of whom is required to create a sustainability goal. In 2025, Black wrote a function-specific guide to help with development, which resulted in a 20 percent increase in employee sustainability goals classified as specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely.
