Jessie Wasser

Manager of Sustainability
Tapestry
27 years old

Jessie Wasser leads ESG reporting, renewable energy procurement and climate risk assessments for Tapestry, the parent company of brands Coach and Kate Spade.

Tapestry’s emissions reduction strategy, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative in 2024, includes a commitment — one of the first of its kind by an apparel company — to cut the company’s Scope 3 emissions from forest, land and agriculture use. It’s seeking a 64 percent emissions cut for Scope 1 (its operations) and Scope 3 (purchased electricity) by the same deadline.

To achieve these targets, Wasser is negotiating renewable energy contracts, which enabled the company to report an 84 percent cut in Scope 1 and 2 emissions since the baseline — and achieve its 2030 goal six years early.

Wasser is an adjunct professor at Columbia, where she teaches an ESG course for the school’s sustainability management master’s program.
