Karin Finney
Karin Finney leads Mattel’s greenhouse gas emissions reduction strategy for operations and purchased electricity (Scope 1 and Scope 2), which calls for the toymaker to cut this part of its carbon footprint in half by 2030. She also is accountable for Mattel’s goal to achieve zero waste at all owned and operated manufacturing facilities by that same timeframe.
Finney’s background in environmental engineering and design have informed projects — including on-site solar and energy-demand reduction initiatives — that reduced Mattel’s Scope 1 and 2 emissions more than 20 percent in 2025.
Meanwhile, six of Mattel’s nine owned and operated manufacturing facilities have achieved zero waste, meaning they divert at least 90 percent of waste from the facility from landfill. That adds up to about 13,600 metric tons of diverted waste annually.
