Matthew Boucher
Matthew Boucher heads the emissions reduction strategy for the world’s largest tool company’s indirect greenhouse gas emissions — the Scope 3 reporting category — and manages supplier sustainability engagement. A mechanical engineer, Boucher joined the company more than six years ago as part of its early-career leadership development program; his final rotation became a full-time sustainability role.
To date, more than half of Stanley Black & Decker’s suppliers, based on the company’s spending, have set science-based emissions reductions targets for their operations and purchased electricity through the initiatives that Boucher has created.
He also built and manages a system that responds to external customer inquiries related to the company’s corporate sustainability strategy, goals and product-specific information. Since early 2025, that platform has routed more than 1,800 regulatory and sustainability inquiries to the right experts for rapid response while helping company leaders understand that sustainability is commercially important.
