Miranda Jackson

Environmental Sustainability Analyst
The Walt Disney Company
29 years old

Miranda Jackson created and manages the annual single-use plastic inventory for U.S.-based theme parks at The Walt Disney Company. The process involves collecting and analyzing data on the sourcing and weight for hundreds of thousands of items.

The data, and the relationships surrounding it, are integral for Disney’s strategy to reduce single-use plastics, improve its operational waste diversion rate and innovate in circular business processes for recovery, recycling and reuse.

Before joining Disney, Jackson worked on reducing emissions and waste on film sets in Hollywood. Jackson, who has an undergraduate degree in fisheries and aquatic sciences, also co-founded social media platform SustainablyManaged, which teaches about humans’ impact on nature and suggests sustainability solutions for daily lives.
