Rowan Parris
Rowan Parris oversees sustainability activities for Turner Construction’s southeast U.S. operations. She manages a team of three dedicated to working with hundreds of construction staffers and projects each year.
Previously, Parris was responsible for creating Turner’s program to measure and manage the carbon footprint “embodied” in building materials, which represents the company’s largest source of greenhouse gas emissions. She coordinated with dozens of stakeholders from multiple departments and geographies to create Turner’s first quantitative analysis, creating benchmarks that are trusted internally and throughout the industry.
Alongside those initiatives, Parris has transitioned nearly 200,000 gallons of diesel fuel purchases to renewable diesel alternatives, reducing life-cycle climate emissions by approximately 1,000 metric tons in two years. She also led a team in implementing a pilot of ultra-low-carbon construction equipment, testing three different solutions that can each reduce lifecycle emissions by 30 percent or greater than the traditional option.
