1999 NEETF/Roper Report Card

The 1999 NEETF/Roper Report Card — sponsored by the National Environmental Education & Training Foundation and conducted by Roper Starch Worldwide — evaluates American attitudes towards the environment and knowledge of environmental issues. In general, respondents resoundingly supported environmental protection; however, they scored poorly on environmental knowledge. NEETF sees Americans as ill-prepared to face environmental problems and argues that an increased understanding of environmental issues precedes the ability to prevent environmental degradation.
