Choose Green Report: Occupancy Sensors
February 1997
Working from the premise that “one of the most overlooked energy-saving tools in the work place is the light switch,” this Green Seal issue, published in 1997, may be a bit dated but should still enlighten the lay office or facilities manager. Without being overly technical, Green Seal gives the ins and outs of sensors: the types of technologies and products available and recommendations about to how and where they might be best used. A Recommended Products chart of small- and large-area wall switches and sensors lists company names and phone numbers, product model numbers, types of technology used, coverage areas, warranty lengths, and list prices. In addition, the issue features the story of a Connecticut energy-efficiency program in state-owned office buildings.
