Common Elements Among Advanced Greenhouse Gas Management Programs
What challenges do companies face in establishing a climate change policy that meets international policy requirements? While acknowledging that there is no “one size fits all” approach, this March 2002 report from the Partnership for Climate Action identifies some common threads. The report builds on the experiences of PCA member companies such as BP, Dupont, and Shell International for a practical discussion of key topics including:
- Establishing baselines
- Setting reduction targets
- Measuring both direct and indirect emissions
- Verifying and reporting
- Emissions trading
The “Practices” section details individual companies’ climate change programs.
