Employees in the Community: A Global Force for Good
This study examines corporate citizenship around the globe — from support for employee volunteer activities to structured programs that address social, economic, and environmental issues in local communities. It offers 12 case studies of community involvement — employee volunteering, fundraising, or grant giving — at companies in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Australia, including: Danone Group, H.B. Fuller Company, General Electric, Levi-Strauss and Co., and National Australia Bank.
Also find an analysis of the reasons for the growing prevalence of corporate citizenship. The report argues that the fall of state-dominated societies and economies and the rise of globalization has created the need for for-profit and nonprofit sectors to step up their involvement in addressing social issues.
