Energy Management and Investor Returns: The Real Estate Sector
This June 2004 study of energy management in the commercial property sector found that leaders in energy management achieved 34% better stock market and financial performance over the past two years. The difference is attributed to several factors related to successful energy management, including the added revenue from reduced energy costs, higher property value, increased appeal to socially responsible investors, and an enhanced image as a well-managed company.
The report includes a special section on energy management benefits in the hotel sector, as well as profiles of the two top-rated companies included in the study.
