Greening Work Styles

Corporate energy-saving programs rise and fall on the behavior of employees and building occupants. What’s the best way to engage them?
The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy examines five energy-saving programs in the United States and Canada in this report and details the success factors they share.
The programs include the Green the Capitol effort in Washington, D.C., and the tenant management strategy at the Empire State Building, which recently underwent a sweeping retrofit and operates using innovative green leasing and building management programs.
The report, titled “Greening Work Styles: Analysis of Energy Behavior Programs in the Workplace,” is available for free download with registration from ACEEE at http://aceee.org/research-report/b121.
