Insuring for Sustainability: Why and How the Leaders are Doing It

The UNEP FI Insurance Working Group has published its inaugural report, showing why sustainability matters in insurance business and why the insurance industry is uniquely positioned to tackle some of the most serious challenges the world is facing.

The report establishes the integral role of the insurance industry in the economy and its tremendous scope to encourage sustainable behavior. It identifies global sustainability issues vital for this generation of insurers, highlights case studies of best practice, and uncovers the opportunities of sustainable insurance.

The IWG calls on the insurance industry to adapt to a changing risk landscape unceasingly, to innovate, and to find solutions to the most pressing sustainability issues collectively.
