Lessons Learned from Case Studies of Six High-Performance Buildings
Commercial buildings account for about 18% of the total primary energy consumption in the U.S., according to Department of Energy estimates. As a result, DOE’s Building Technologies Program has established a goal to create the technology and knowledgebase for marketable zero-energy commercial buildings (ZEBs) by 2025. This June 2006 technical paper outlines what the successes of the program thus far. The reading is a bit dry, but enlightening nonetheless.
