National Toxicology Program Final Report on Bisphenol A
In it’s final report (PDF) on bisphenol A, a chemical used to make hard plastics and epoxy resins, the U.S. government’s National Toxicology Program says current human exposure to bisphenol A is of “some concern” for effects on development of the prostate gland and brain and for behavioral effects in fetuses, infants and children.
The report, issued in September 2008, concludes the National Toxicology Program’s current opinion on BPA based on available research, and includes a review of the scientific literature on BPA and public and peer review comments received on an earlier draft report.
