One Plan Case Study Reports
The Office of Technical Assistance for Toxics Use Reduction’s “One Plan Case Study Reports” profiles the development of integrated contingency plans (“one plans”) for a small paint manufacturing facility and a medium-sized metal finishing operation. Emphasis was placed on pollution prevention and the involvement of local emergency planning committees and other response officials in developing response plans. The purpose of an integrated contingency plan is to reduce hazards to human health or the environment from fires, explosions, or any unplanned release of hazardous substances into the air, soil, or water. The plan establishes specific emergency responses should such a disaster occur. Use these reports as samples to develop your own plan.
