Primer on Bioproducts

This primer, published in November 2004, offers an introduction to biology-based products and processes — technologies and processes that use plants, microorganisms, and their products as an alternative (or as a complement) to the fossil fuels and petrochemicals used in cars, factories, and consumer goods. The booklet is designed to make readers aware of bioproducts, and to help them participate in a public dialogue on the potential risks and benefits of using these products.

The primer was produced jointly with BIOCAP Canada Foundation, a multi-stakeholder university research network.
