Report on a Survey of Environmental Reporting Costs and
Benefits
What does it cost to create a corporate environmental report (CER)? The short answer: Anything from a little to a lot. So concluded ENVIRON, a UK-based public health and environmental risk consultancy, which was retained by the UK Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs to conduct a survey of companies that produce environmental reports. The purpose of the survey was to examine the costs and benefits of environmental reporting and to compare costs among different sectors, across company size and the reporting maturity of companies. The results show a wide disparity in CER-related costs.
