Ricoh U.K. Climate Change Program

Top European manufacturer of office copiers Ricoh U.K. worked with Future Forests, a climate change consulting company, to develop a plan to reduce and in some cases neutralize its climate change impact. The company utilized the Future Forests’ CarbonNeutral assessment program as a basis for its work. In 2004, Ricoh U.K. launched several programs, including:

• Resource — Full Greener Office Guide: the guide helps offices become more environmentally friendly. The Guide is available online and was created for key Ricoh suppliers and customers.
• Training: Ricoh developed climate change training for internal staff and external customers
• Carbon Assessment: the company hired a third party to conduct a carbon assessment at one of its manufacturing plants
• Offsets: the company supported forest development and offset the GHG emissions impact of its front office.
