UPS Fuel Cell-Powered Vehicle Fleet
In August 2004, UPS increased its commitment to the environment by expanding a program that puts fuel cell vehicles on the streets delivering packages. Three truck-sized vehicles have been deployed to Ann Arbor, Santa Monica and Sacramento. The vehicles run on hydrogen gas, which is combined with oxygen inside the fuel cells to provide energy. Tailpipe emissions consist only of water vapor, which makes fuel cell vehicles the cleanest automotive transport technology in existence.
