About the session

What’s covered

As industries worldwide strive to decarbonize, the role of aluminum, a critical material for construction, transportation, and packaging, is under scrutiny due to high carbon emissions from production. A highly recyclable material, recycled aluminum accounts for 80% of aluminum production in the U.S. and requires only 5% of the energy needed for the production of primary aluminum.

Still, recycled aluminum has its limits. Primary aluminum is necessary to meet growing demand and specific quality requirements. Leading companies are pioneering the integration of both recycled and decarbonized primary aluminum into supply chains, demonstrating successful models and setting new standards. This session will explore these advancements and discuss pathways for other companies to adopt similar practices, driving broader industrial transformation.
