About the session

What’s covered

The chemicals industry alone accounts for four percent of global GHG emissions. Yet the sector lags behind in viable, low emissions production technologies at commercial scale. We simply do not yet have the full suite of technologies and business models at scale to reduce the chemical sector’s emissions and meet climate targets.

There is however a rich innovation ecosystem starting to evolve within the chemicals sector. In this session, we’ll discuss the emerging solutions to remake things like plastics, fertilizers, fabrics, and 90 percent of all the physical objects we use in modern life. We’ll explore the role of startups and innovators in the chemical sector and what investors and corporate stakeholders need to know to support and integrate this promising group of technologies at scale.
