About the session

What’s covered

How can businesses measure the carbon impact of circular practices like reuse, repair, and remanufacturing? And what happens when circularity and decarbonization goals clash?

Current greenhouse gas accounting methods often fail to capture the full environmental benefits of circular practices. Sometimes, carbon accounting can even penalize reuse, repair, and other strategies to keep products out of the landfill.  This tutorial explores the challenges of carbon accounting for circular systems and offers strategies to better measure emissions reductions from circularity. Through real-world examples and case studies, attendees will walk away with practical approaches to align carbon-reduction efforts with circular economy practices.
