About the session

What’s covered

Demand for energy and carbon accounting practices have grown alongside developing clean energy markets, driving the need for standardized accounting practices that fill gaps in existing accounting frameworks. Since 2020, the Clean Energy Accounting Project (CEAP) has promoted consensus-based answers to these widespread issues, promoting consumer confidence in investments to advance sustainable energy.

Please join CEAP, the Center for Resources’ think tank, for a breakfast presentation and brainstorming session where experts will lead lightning round presentations to discuss the need for and results of past accounting projects, including approaches to suppliers’ procurement of renewable energy, market-based accounting for clean fuels, and best practices for calculating residual mixes. These will be followed by a brainstorming session, discussing outstanding questions in energy and carbon accounting. Topics include ESG reporting, supply chain, and the future of battery storage. Together we will identify new unanswered questions, and what should be done about them.
