About the session

What’s covered

With growing regulatory and market pressures, companies are increasingly required to understand, measure, and disclose their Scope 3 emissions. While technology offers many tools to support this effort, much still depends on the expertise and insight of sustainability practitioners to ensure that Scope 3 inventories are accurate, complete, and decision-ready.

This interactive workshop will focus on the critical role of human judgment in building robust Scope 3 inventories that comply with the GHG Protocol and meet evolving voluntary and regulatory requirements. You’ll hear firsthand from a panel of sustainability experts as they share lessons learned, common challenges, and the hidden heroes of their Scope 3 reporting journey.

The session will culminate with a hands-on group exercise designed to help you get started—or get smarter—about your Scope 3 accounting process, no matter where you are in the journey.

Learning Objectives:

  • Fundamentals of what a Scope 3 inventory is and what is “in” and “out” of your scope
  • Techniques for diving deeper into and understanding your supply chain
  • How to apply these principles to create a Scope 3 inventory that fits the needs of your company
