What’s covered

How can circular business models transform the fashion industry? What steps are needed to scale solutions that decouple revenue from resource use?

Today, the fashion industry operates under a take-make-waste model, meaning millions of tonnes of clothing are produced, worn, and discarded every year. We must reinvent this wasteful linear system and fundamentally transform the way we design, make, and ultimately enjoy our clothes.

Circular business models such as repair, rental, resale, and remaking, offer an opportunity to grow profits without relying on new production. This session will explore The Fashion ReModel, a demonstration project led by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. Attendees will learn how The project is working with leading brands to identify solutions and unlock barriers in order to scale circular business models, with the goal of beginning to decouple revenue from production.
