Tour of GreenWaste Recovery’s high-diversion Materials Recovery Facility (MRF)

Come learn more about where all the waste from Trellis Impact is processed for maximum diversion! GreenWaste’s San Jose Materials Recovery Facility was California’s first high-diversion organic waste processing facility. You’ll walk through our single-stream MRF, which takes residential and commercial mixed recyclables and separates them into individual commodities, including cardboard, glass, aluminum, and a variety of plastics. These materials are baled and sent to processors to create new products.

Important information:

• All attendees must be 18 years old and older to attend.
• Please wear long pants
• Wear closed toe and flat shoes: No open toe shoes, no heels, no sandals, flip flops or any slip-on footwear that may expose any part of the feet. Feet must be covered entirely.
• GreenWaste will provide the following PPE gear: safety vests, hard hats, face masks, and goggles.
