Alexander Habib
VP Sustainability and Engagement
L’Oréal Groupe
Alexander (Alex) Habib is a communications strategist who believes in the power of framing—whether through words or images. As Vice President of Communications & Engagement for Sustainability at L’Oréal North America, he translates complex climate transitions into narratives that connect and compel, helping position the company’s sustainability program, L’Oréal for the Future, in ways that resonate with diverse stakeholders.
Alex’s 17+ years navigating corporate affairs, public policy, and advocacy—from the New Jersey State Legislature to Johnson & Johnson to L’Oréal—have shaped his conviction that effective communication requires both strategic rigor and genuine connection. As Chair of the Sustainability Committee for the Personal Care Products Council, he builds consensus across industry to drive meaningful change.
His communications practice extends to his love for photography, where he applies the same discipline: noticing, framing, and sharing meaning. For Alex, a well-composed image, like a well-crafted message, has the power to capture what matters most to an audience.
Alex holds an MPA in Health Policy from NYU’s Wagner School. He lives in Jersey City with his wife and their rescue cat, Odin, where he golfs poorly, birds enthusiastically, and takes his home cooking seriously.
