Anku Madan

Anku is a Principal at Obvious Ventures, an early-stage VC firm focused on backing world-positive companies. Before joining Obvious, Anku was an investor at Hitachi’s venture capital arm, Hitachi Ventures, where he focused on investing in areas such as carbon dioxide removal, nuclear fusion, biomanufacturing, and robotics. Prior to Hitachi Ventures, Anku co-founded Undercover Colors, a world-positive company focused on ending drug-facilitated sexual assault, and worked at Propel(x) and Plug and Play Ventures.

Anku grew up in North Carolina and holds a B.S. from North Carolina State University. He also made a (misguided) attempt at a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Duke University. He enjoys geeking out about coffee brew methods, vintage (and modern) sci-fi, and tennis, snowboarding, and cycling.
