Bjoern Stengel is IDC’s global sustainability research lead. He advises leading IT product and consulting firms on how environmental, social, and governance (ESG) topics impact and shape business strategies and technology use. He provides insights into market opportunities, adoption strategies, and use cases for sustainability-related technologies and services. Bjoern helps IDC’s clients understand the impact of technology-enabled, sustainable transformation processes in the context of sustainable business strategies, operations, and products and services through research reports, news publications, and speaking engagements at industry events such as Climate Week NYC.
Bjoern is also leading IDC’s global Sustainability Research Council, which brings together IDC analysts from different domains to share their views on sustainability through collaborative research efforts.
His expertise spans across the spectrum of leading providers in the sustainability space — from consulting to research and academia, non-profit advocacy, ESG ratings and indicators, to financial services. Bjoern has been working at the forefront of corporate sustainability, helping global organizations pioneer products and capitalize on whitespaces during the transformation from CSR to mainstream ESG integration and sustainability management.
