Cathy Mann
Throughout her career, Ms. Mann has led public affairs, corporate affairs, strategic marketing, corporate and crisis communications, media relations, and human resources efforts in diverse, adverse, and tumultuous circumstances and regions, including active war zones.
Ms. Mann currently serves as the Vice President of Public Affairs for Cemex, one of the world’s leading building materials companies. In this role, she leads a worldwide team to design and execute regional and global advocacy strategies in support of the company’s objectives and sustainability programs, while elevating the company’s profile and reputation through leadership representation in key industry associations. She also is responsible for targeted public affairs activities across the United States while also leading marketing and communications programs for the U.S. region.
Previously, Ms. Mann served as the Global Head of Corporate and Public Affairs for Westinghouse, successfully navigating global advocacy efforts and media relations in the highly regulated nuclear industry. Also, she was Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President, Global Marketing & Communications, and was a Corporate Officer for the American Bureau of Shipping. Ms. Mann also has held various strategic marketing, communications, and leadership positions with Halliburton where she led the global marketing strategy development and execution overseeing all management teams charged with executing corporate events, branding, advertising, digital marketing, and industry communications. She also has held global HR leadership roles in Europe (Balkans Region, which included Kosovo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hungary, Croatia, Macedonia, and Greece) and the Middle East (Kuwait, Dubai, and Iraq).
Throughout her career, Ms. Mann’s leadership has been recognized with numerous accolades, including 20+ American Marketing Association awards. She is frequently sought to facilitate relevant industry and academic discussions on public and corporate affairs, crisis communications, advocacy strategies, leadership, and diversity and inclusion.
Ms. Mann holds a Master of Business Administration from Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Texas A&M University. She has served on numerous non-profit boards, and currently serves on the Public Affairs Council Board of Directors as well as several industry-related organizations.
