Christine Daugherty
Christine serves on the Bayer Sustainability Council, an independent external Sustainability Council that advises the Board of Management of Bayer AG and other functions within the company in all sustainability matters. She is also a Director for Leading Harvest, a nonprofit advancing sustainable agriculture, and Ciranda, a global supplier of organic and non-GMO ingredients. She also serves as an advisor for Texas Christian University (TCU) Neeley Business School – Sustainable Business Certification program. Her governance experience includes serving as past Chair of the Board for AgroScout, a precision agriculture AI company, and as a Board member for the Wells Fargo IN2 incubator, supporting ag-tech startups.
Previously, Christine held pivotal roles at the Gates Foundation, identifying private sector partners to address agricultural and climate challenges. At PepsiCo and Tyson Foods, she led global sustainable agriculture initiatives, integrating business and sustainability strategies to deliver transformative impact.
Christine’s unique blend of legal, scientific, and leadership expertise positions her as a trusted advisor in corporate governance, responsible sourcing, and sustainability innovation. She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law, a Post-doctoral in Plant Gene Regulation from the University of Florida, a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology from Louisiana State University, a MS degree in Plant Pathology from Iowa State University, and a BA from Central College of Iowa.
