Dara O'Rourke

Dara O’Rourke is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management at UC Berkeley and the Faculty Director of the Master of Climate Solutions. Dr. O’Rourke founded the Sustainability Science and Innovation team within Amazon.com, which supported the launch of The Climate Pledge, a commitment by over 500 corporations to achieve net zero carbon by 2040. Dr. O’Rourke was also the founder of GoodGuide.com, which built a suite of tools that provide information to consumers on the environmental, social, and health performance of products and companies. His work has been featured in The New York Times, International Herald Tribune, Boston Globe, Los Angeles Times, The Economist, CBS, ABC, NPR, and was voted one of the “Male Sports Figures of 1997” by the Village Voice. Dr. O’Rourke teaches courses on sustainable industry, environmental justice, climate solution pathways, and governance of global production. He was previously a professor at MIT.
