David Barahona is the Senior Director of Strategic Investments in PepsiCo’s Global Sustainability Office, where he leads the enterprise-wide investment strategy that integrates financial considerations and rigor into planning and forecasting efforts to advance PepsiCo’s pep+ agenda and drive measurable environmental impact. He oversees the sourcing, evaluation, and governance of global sustainability investments—including climate, agriculture, water, packaging, and livelihood outcomes—while embedding sustainability considerations into CAPEX, M&A, and long‑term financial planning.
A former finance lead for PepsiCo’s North American eCommerce Supply Chain and Technology functions, David has held multiple strategic finance roles across supply chain, brand innovation, and sales—culminating in becoming PepsiCo’s first dedicated sustainability finance associate. He has championed the advancement of the company’s investment governance, designing innovative financing mechanisms, and enabling senior leaders to make capital‑efficient decisions that align financial performance with long‑term sustainability outcomes.
David holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a BS in Finance from Miami University (OH).
