David Berdish is passionately pursuing his second career as Term Faculty at the Virginia Commonwealth University Department of Supply Chain Management and Analytics, enabling student success and delivering equitable supply chains. He is leading the Circular Minerals Resilience project to ensure that used aluminum, cobalt, copper, graphite, lithium, manganese, and nickel will provide consumer electronics, battery, and electric vehicle manufacturers a more affordable, more equitable, and more sustainable sourcing alternative to virgin minerals that are mined from the earth and generate environmental damage, community denigration, and potential human rights violations. He is retired from Ford Motor Company, where he designed and was responsible for the Ford Global Human Rights Code of Working Conditions, Community Impact Assessments, Sustainable Mobility, and the Water Strategy.
