Deepthi Ravi

Sustainable Design Specialist
PLP Architecture
Deepthi is an overseas-qualified Architect with a specialization in Sustainable Design. At PLP Architecture, she assists designs at the early stages of the project, to be informed by a narrative of Building Performance and Whole Life Carbon Strategies. She ensures that designs make a positive impact on the users and the environment simultaneously. She has experience working with projects of varied scales, typologies, and geographical locations. Her motivation in the subject is due to her dual role in utilizing her knowledge in the built environment through quantitative data, which leads to qualitative design strategies.

Following her career path since 2015, she finds it key to value, educate, and expand knowledge across the value chain in and out of the construction industry. She has assisted innovation and research internally in her practice through computational optimization and PLP Labs, and previously for Urban Sequoia during her time at SOM.

She has been recognized in 2024’s Edie 30 under 30 cohort for Young Leaders in Sustainability and is a Young Leaders Committee Member of the Urban Land Institute. She was interviewed on the FutureBuild Podcast last year: https://youtu.be/AT5xJNS5zEA?si=xzdyJyvnklgJYNK2

She has an active industry engagement through her roles in various organizations in the UK, such as the Architects Climate Action Network (ACAN), the UK Architects Declare, and the Sustainable Design Collective (SDC). She has also been a task group member for the UK Green Building Council’s (UKGBC) Net Zero Framework Definition.

She dedicates her interest to setting out core design principles to help close the performance gap and go beyond the delivery of a Sustainable Built Environment.
