Dominique Thomas
Before Industrious Labs, Dominique worked as the Training Manager at the Climate Advocacy Lab. There she developed Training for Impact, a power building and political education training infrastructure to equip climate advocates on how to build a powerful multiracial cross-class movement. During her tenure, she trained hundreds of advocates across the US on how to develop a strong strategic capacity. Before this, Dominique worked at 350.org where she was the Mid-Atlantic Regional Organizer working at the intersection of climate and racial justice. She was a part of the Stop the Williams Pipeline Coalition that defeated the construction of the Williams Northeast Supply Enhancement Pipeline in 2020. She also worked in coalition with other NYS groups to pressure institutions to divest from fossil fuels. During her time there she was a staunch advocate for representation and justice for impacted communities and organizers being impacted by the climate crisis with the Movement for a Green New Deal.
Before 350.org, Dominique had cultivated her skills in research and organizing across social movements including: working as a researcher and scientist at Weill Cornell Medical School where she ran clinical trials in Urology; and co-chair of Black Youth Project 100 NYS fighting against state violence and shifting the material conditions of NYC residents.
Dominique holds a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Neuroscience from Cornell University. An Afrofuturist and amateur athlete, you can catch Dominique with her nose in a science fiction novel, running long distance along a trail or challenging herself in a pilates class. Dominique lives in Upstate NY.
