Erin Beller is the Nature & Biodiversity Program Manager for Google’s Real Estate Sustainability Team, where she leads efforts to improve biodiversity and ecosystem health for people and nature in the communities Google calls home. She received her B.S. in Geological and Environmental Sciences from Stanford University and her Ph.D. in Geography from the University of California Berkeley, where her research explored the role of history in guiding landscape resilience and ecosystem management of cities and other human-dominated landscapes. Prior to joining Google, Erin led the applied historical ecology team for the San Francisco Estuary Institute’s Resilient Landscapes Program and worked for the History, Architecture, and Landscapes branch of Yosemite National Park. Her research has been featured in popular and scientific venues including the New York Times, Scientific American, and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
