Gerard Westhoff is a Senior Associate on RMI’s Carbon-Free Transportation team, where he focuses on accelerating transport electrification. His work centers on the economics of fleet electrification and the grid and infrastructure challenges associated with scaling charging, on which he advises utilities, fleet operators, and public agencies. Gerard is also actively involved in NACFE’s Run on Less demonstrations, analyzing findings from real-world trucking decarbonization efforts, and is a co-author of NACFE’s recent report on the total cost of ownership of alternative powertrain trucks in the “Messy Middle.”
Prior to joining RMI, he served as a policy analyst in the UK government, where he contributed to the development of the UK’s net-zero target, Sixth Carbon Budget, and industrial decarbonization strategies.
