Hillary Fenrich

Hillary leads the global nature & water strategy at McDonald’s, across commodities and geographies. Her focus is particularly on forests, natural ecosystems such as grasslands, biodiversity, landscape solutions and initiatives, and water – both within supply chains, as well as at restaurants. She represents McDonald’s and supports the industry in several private sector initiatives, including: co-leading the Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef Nature Positive Production Working Group, co-leading the Consumer Goods Forum’s Forest Positive Coalition (CGF FPC) Beef Working Group, and participating in the Accountability Framework Private Sector Advisory Group, CGF FPC Steering Committee, the WWF & GlobeScan Shaping the Future of Water Agenda, and WRI Aqueduct Alliance.

Hillary is particularly interested in discussing: theories of durable change for international conservation outcomes that are in partnership with producers, biodiversity datasets that open-source, landscape solutions that have watersheds as boundaries, private sector approaches on water quality & quantity at farm and community-level, and best close-by hikes to the SJ convention center.

Her background is in public-private policy and biodiversity assessments, particularly in Latin America.

Please note that she does not lead McDonald’s greenhouse gas emissions strategy or regenerative agriculture strategy. Please also note that she does not believe that farm-level traceability is a precursor to doing good work within communities, with communities, for people & the planet.
