Jason Fischer
Conservation Manager
Disney Conservation
Dr. Jason is a wildlife ecologist with a background in ornithology, urban ecology, and conservation planning. He began his career working with the Arizona Game and Fish Department and as a wildlife consultant in Arizona, where he became fascinated by how and why some species manage to thrive in developing landscapes, while others do not. That interest led to his doctoral work at the University of Illinois- Urbana/Champaign, where he studied the role of diet in shaping foraging behavior, population dynamics, and community structure along gradients of urbanization. After graduating in 2015, Dr. Jason joined Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment as a Conservation Programs Manager leading avian conservation projects for the company. In the years since, his role has expanded to support broader terrestrial wildlife and conservation planning efforts. Today, he leads the team that supports wildlife conservation on Disney properties globally with a particular emphasis on work in Florida and The Bahamas.
