Jeff Riles
As part of the Cloud Operations + Innovations organization, Jeff leads a team that supports datacenter interconnection and energy supply contracts with utilities and third-party suppliers. Additionally, in this role, Jeff leads regulatory and policy strategy development with utilities, regulators, and stakeholders important to datacenter and clean energy infrastructure delivery in the Americas. All of this is done in support of Microsoft’s long-term 100/100/0 vision – that on all the world’s grids, 100 percent of electrons, 100 percent of the time are generated from zero carbon sources.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Jeff served on the energy team at Google, as part of the business unit that managed energy supply and carbon free energy procurement for their Data Centers. Jeff has also previously worked in Washington D.C., at Enel North America for the renewable energies division and practiced energy regulatory law.
Jeff is based in the Microsoft San Franciso office and holds degrees from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and Oklahoma City University.
