Jillian is the Director of Climate Finance at the American Forest Foundation, leading the development of innovative new conservation impact models and strategic financing needs of AFF’s work. AFF’s mission is to empower US family forest landowners with critical finance and technical assistance to unlock the conservation impacts of working lands. Jillian is currently developing a new practice to mitigate catastrophic wildfire in the US West through a stacked benefit approach and blended public and private finance. This work targets family forest landowners on the frontlines of the wildfire crisis to reduce fuel loads and risk of wildfire transmission into adjacent communities. In 2022, Jillian led the issuance of a first of its kind $10 million green bond in support of the expansion of AFF’s Family Forest Carbon Program (FFCP) in the Central Appalachians in partnership with Morgan Stanley. Jillian brings 17 years of experience in climate finance, economics, policy and research, and program design and is currently based in the Washington, D.C. She has a BS in Science, Technology and International Affairs from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, a Masters in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford, and a Masters in Finance from the Georgetown University McDonough School of business.
