Joe Hicken is Senior Vice President of Business Development and Policy at Sublime Systems, a company commercializing its breakthrough manufacturing process that can manufacture an even better cement with electricity and more flexible feedstocks. At Sublime, Joe leads the company’s efforts to engage with national leaders seeking clean and secure supply chains using the most efficient construction materials. He integrates storytelling, policy momentum, and complex transaction design to close category-defining deals that unlock scale-up and revenue for the low-carbon cement industry at large. Prior to his work in the private sector, driving revenue and commercial motion for innovators, Joe spent a decade in Washington DC, as an Obama Administration political appointee at the GSA and the Pentagon, and as a staff member in the US House of Representatives.
