Johanna Turko is a Sustainability Strategy and Design Specialist based in the Bay Area. She has wide-ranging experience in sustainable built environments, including decarbonization and electrification, resiliency planning, and management of global building certification portfolios. Her work emphasizes holistic, collaborative planning to develop long-term sustainability and resiliency roadmaps with demonstrated financial returns and social benefits.
Johanna earned her degree in Architecture from the University of Tennessee and began specializing in sustainable design immediately after graduating. She holds five professional sustainability and wellness accreditations within the AEC industry.
She lives in San Francisco with her husband and a full house of pets—a dog, a cat, and two guinea pigs. In her free time, she makes art and rides her bike to her community garden plot, where she hopes to develop a green thumb to match her green career.
