John leads projects for corporate clients as a Net-Zero Strategy consultant at Anthesis, a pure-play sustainability and climate consultancy, developing science-based targets, net zero carbon strategies and roadmaps, and long-range transition plans. He has also led renewable energy policy development and utility clean energy programs that have resulted in market transformation across the Western U.S. and awarded over $2 billion for clean energy projects. John deeply enjoys mentoring and networking with young climate leaders, graduates from environmental programs (including Terra.do’s Learning for Action fellowship program, in which John serves as a Mentor), and with professionals pivoting into climate careers. His career expertise also includes carbon accounting, carbon markets, electric utility operations and interconnection, solar energy design, installation, and education, and transportation biofuels and electrification. He holds an Electrical Engineering degree from Georgia Institute of Technology and a MS in Energy and Resources from University of California, Berkeley. John enjoys writing and performing comedy skits, learning unique instruments, practicing and instructing a bodywork method, and hiking. He is based in Oakland, California.
