Jonathon is a Senior Partner at Converge Strategies, where he advises senior executives and public leaders on strengthening energy resilience and mitigating risk. Jon’s approach to measuring risk, developing strategies, executing exercises, and building incident playbooks is grounded in Jonathon Monken’s 20+ years of experience in national security, public safety, emergency management, military readiness, and critical infrastructure protection.
Before joining Converge Strategies, he was the Senior Director of System Resilience at PJM Interconnection, the largest grid operator in North America. There, he developed new resilience strategies to integrate transmission planning, system operations, physical and cybersecurity, and energy markets. Earlier, as Director of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency and Homeland Security Advisor to the Governor, he developed and led statewide approaches to protecting critical infrastructure, an experience that continues to shape his work today.
Jon holds an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy.
